Legacy Gymnastics is Birmingham's newest gymnastics facility. Our coaching staff combines two generations of gymnastics professionals that have trained Birmingham-area gymnasts for 30 years! Our head coach, Dr. Joel Inman, Ph.D., started coaching gymnastics at the Shades Valley YMCA in the 1970s. He opened his own facility, the Joel Inman Gymnastics Academy (J.I.G.A.), in 1984. He has joined four of his former students, Brianna Salter (Legacy owner and assistant head coach), Bethany Bell Buchanan (assistant head coach), C.J. Laird (boys and girls coach), and Sarah Lewis (assistant coach) to deliver a combination of seasoned coaching experience and youthful enthusiasm that is unique in the Birmingham area. Legacy Gymnastics offers recreational and competitive team programs for boys and girls from 18 months to 18 years old.
